Apparently you can’t make a living off heartbroken teenagers alone. Seattle-based Death Cab For Cutie are broadening their horizons next week, with the help of a documentary on Current TV. Says Seattle music blog Sound On The Sound:

Appearing only on Current TV next Thursday, May 8, at 10:30P ET / 7:30P PT and repeating at 1:30A ET/ 10:30P PT), the documentary titled Open Windows will apparently show songs from the first performances of this years tour, which we can assume will include some of the songs slated for the new album…

The upcoming album from the group, titled Narrow Stairs, is set to hit stores May 13th. We hear it’s pretty good, and you can always check out the Daytrotter Sessions while you wait. Oh, and don’t forget about Just Jazzin’…

Death Cab are cool and all, but let’s face it, they get type-cast. That sniffling little indie kid behind you at the show? Yeah, he probably likes Death Cab. So when Ben Gibbard wants to flaunt his musical prowess beyond the confines of Death Cab, where does he turn?
